What is norimaki?
Norimaki (海苔巻き) is
a Japanese term meaning “nori roll” or “seaweed roll.” It generally refers to various foods wrapped in roasted nori seaweed, most commonly makizushi (rolled sushi), but it can also refer to rice crackers or rice balls wrapped in seaweed.
Norimaki, or norimaki sushi, are traditional rolls wrapped in a nori sheet.
There are two types of this dish — hosomaki, rolls with one filling, sometimes in combination with cucumber and futomaki, the name of which translates as thick rolls with a lot of fillings.
